Beautiful Haitian Hospitality & Sunshine

Beautiful Haitian Hospitality & Sunshine

December 12, 2017 Posted by HATS Visitors 2 Comments

We are finally in Haiti experiencing the beautiful Haitian hospitality and sunshine.

Yesterday Karen and Luc greeted us with a royal welcome along with all the awesome children and workers! It was love at first sight!

Arrival of Lew, Hope and Liam

Our first day

In our day and half here we’ve met all the children and gone for a walk with them yesterday evening along the canal. The children took garbage bags and picked up trash. It was so nice to see them trying to keep their little area clean. I think the highlight for them was their reward of a candy at the end!

Last night Liam joined all children playing games of Uno and trains. They had so much fun!

Uno game before bed

Today started at 7 am with seeing the kids off to school and devotions. Then devotions with the employees. Karen showed us all around the compound and now we are ready to take on whatever comes at us!

Morning devotions

We also went to the school and saw all the children there…500 in total! It was so inspiring to see all the amazing work being done there.

Lew completed a couple small repair jobs today and is ready for the bigger ones tomorrow.

Liam and the children here had lots of fun playing basketball and ball hockey today. Karen, Jocelyn, and I unpacked all the donations and organized some of it. Karen and Jocelyn are thrilled with the generosity of the people back home.

Our hearts have been touched by all the love and hugs we’ve received in our short time here. I can truly say we feel at home here! It’s been a wonderful day and a half and we are anxiously awaiting what the remainder of our time here will bring. We are blessed beyond measure!
