Thank You for Your Prayers

February 23, 2019 Posted by Karen Huxter 3 Comments

Thanking God and thanking all of you very much for your prayers for us and for Haiti, too for all for your encouraging notes and comments. For the first time in 17 days, today I do not feel like I am walking on eggshells. I love the sense of calmness and the lack of screams from battles on the bridge very close to the compound.

Three days of things being calmer in our area, in some other areas of Haiti too, makes for much more relaxed people. We are all hoping that things will stay this way.

Today Papa Luckner said it was okay for the children to spend the day with him, Roselore, and the six children with them.  Not sure who was the happiest with this news – the children or Mama Karen, Keith, and Joan. After doing our best to keep the children occupied and work done for 17 days, I know the three of us adults are very glad and thankful. The children normally spend Saturdays with Luckner and his family, which they look forward to. The children both here and there have been antsy to spend time together again. Us three adults have been feeling a little antsy as well – for a few minutes of restful quietness. Today we have it. Yay!  Please God may school reopen on Monday and may the precious people return to their normal lifestyle.

The children were disappointed because our awesome Texas group could not come as scheduled. Also I have family booked to come Wednesday for a week. It remains to be seen when Canada and the US will once more have regular flights coming and going. Hopefully soon.

You are loved and appreciated. God bless you each and every one.

Looks like there are many ways of keeping the children busy. I am impressed with JJ making cookies…..were there any for anyone when he was finished? Tell him I asked that.
So great to hear things are much calmer and I pray it stays that way.
