Rain, Bug Bites, Cankles, More Letters and Fun Games

Rain, Bug Bites, Cankles, More Letters and Fun Games

November 22, 2017 Posted by HATS Visitors 2 Comments

Hi everyone, Yvette here.

Another hot day in Haiti! But we had rain. Rain that was like bath water and made the house even hotter with humidity, so not very helpful. Everyone was glistening and sticky. I do like the wavy hair that isn’t full of static like in Calgary during this time of year.

I have less bug bites than my last trip here 4 years ago, but I do have cankles again which is delightful. What is up with my feet in Haiti?

We spent another day at the church taking pictures of the kids and doing sponsor letters which has gone smoothly as usual … NOT! Once the photos are taken, they are labeled individually with the kid’s name and uploaded to the computer. The sponsor letters are translated into English, scanned, uploaded and named individually too. It’s quite the production.

This evening, we had a couple of raucous games of Uno with the older kids. I was not happy sitting in between Moise and JJ as they both were not my friends, giving me as many Skip and Plus 4 cards as they could!

The plan for tomorrow is to finish up most of the photos and letters for the kids and then go out on an adventure in the community. We are excited for more interesting experiences.

~Yvette

About HATS Visitors

HATS – Haiti encourages individuals and work teams to travel to Haiti to be a part of the work we are doing. Those who come to Haiti are given the opportunity to join in construction projects, visit in the local community, spend time with the children, and minister in church. You can help us in our work for the most needy and most vulnerable members of Haiti’s population. Come be transformed by seeing the need and being a part of meeting that need. Be part of the story

Thanks Yvette for the blog. Just get even with Moise and JJ but you will have to do it one at a time! Hope you had a successful day today with photos and notes and got to travel (in the back of the truck) to some interesting places.
