Annual Photos & Letters for Sponsors Underway

Heather Here

Today was so much fun!

I played all day with the kids, including a game of school where Sandra was the teacher. She gave me a zero for being distracting to the other kids and pulling funny faces. I also got to spend a lot of time with Tifi while the other kids were at school.  This was great as she needs lots of attention and support.  We got to play together and colour.  I am so excited to see her again.

We also got done over 100 photos today for the sponsors and I was there for all of 20 minutes at the school to see all the preschool kids running in circles as we are trying to take their photos and write the letters. Then Madam Karen came in and they all sat down and are quiet as we finish. I am so happy to be back here I cannot wait for the fun days ahead.

Liette Here

Today, we started the craziness of the annual photo taking and letter writing for all of the sponsor students at Hands Across the Sea.  What fun!  Today went so smoothly, I’m worried about what manner of disaster is inevitably coming our way J   We were able to complete letters and photos for over 100 students and are starting the hard work of scanning and labeling everything.  Keith, Sandy, Yvette and Karen ensured that things went marvelously this morning at the school, then Joan, JJ, Sandy, Yvette and myself worked on translating and organizing the letters this afternoon, while Keith worked on the photos.

After a yummy dinner of squash soup, there is a game of Battleship starting between Yvette and her godson, Moise right now.  Sandy is observing to make sure there is no cheating going on!

Tomorrow, we’re going to start bright and early to see how many kids we can get done so that hopefully we’ll get all of the sponsorship work done this week if possible.

Looking forward to another wonderful day tomorrow!

~Liette

Thanks Heather and Liette for your updates, I know a little of the organization and work that goes into these photos and notes for sponsors. Glad you had a good first day and we hope today goes as well as yesterday.
Glad Sandy is the watch dog for cheating…..I have played with him and he does cheat. Tell him I told you that, I can see that sweet smile now.

Dear Heather and Liette , I am learning so much about HATS through my grand-daughter and all of you who do blogs. It’s wonderful you listen to Gods call and give of yourselves to make a difference. Thank-you for giving your time and using your gifts to bring love and hope to this part of Haiti. You are all a blessing and always in our prayers.

Thank you for the incredible work you do to get this job done. My favourite pic so far is the selfie. I think you got them all in the photo:)
