Loving the ☀️ Weather & Getting Tons ? Done!
Happy time for Linda and the little ones

Loving the ☀️ Weather & Getting Tons ? Done!

November 26, 2016 Posted by Robert Comeau 4 Comments

Today’s blog by two authors! First up, Heather Uptigrove.

Hello it is Heather here reporting from Haiti. I am so happy to be back as I have missed this place and the people here too much. I am mainly here to help Tifi with her therapy so I am spending all morning with her and of course Magdala and Dickieson too. We have some magnet figures for Tifi to dress in clothes and if the younger ones are left out you will never hear the end of it.

Yesterday I told them if they finished their lessons they could play with the parachute and they ended up make a tent out of it for our house. I was the mom and they were the kids. Markenson loved that as he would walk right up and say Mama please push me on the swing.

Also I love the weather it has been nice here but not too hot and I’m just happy to be away from the snow. Vlad said he would like to come back to Canada with us so I told him we could switch places. He can go live with my family while I stay here. I am excited for the rest of my time here and can’t wait to see what’s next.

Next up, Bob with take #2.

We have been here today, Friday, for 5 days already. A lot of work needed doing specially the sponsorship pictures and letters. Linda, Keith and Joan have been working hard to get it all done. Pictures then sorting letters from children to match lists. Liette, I don’t envy you for the rest you have to do.

I help in between projects on the compound. I’m trying to outdo Dickie so I have almost all my list done. For some reason my list seems to grow! Dickie a few things you don’t have to worry about:

  • Work bench – new one done
  • Bicycle roof post – done
  • Shower drain fixed and Tap replaced
  • Karen’s desk issues shelf replaced
  • Wooded shelter for plumbing at girls building

So if you still have the list of things to be done – the cooler I can’t fix.  There is plenty of other stuff on daily basis. Keith fixed the girls sink drain and other stuff before I got here. He took a lot off my list because it is normally longer. Thanks.

Keith and Joan are doing an awesome job here we are blessed to have them. I get a glimpse of them flying by when I’m running. Everyone is pulling together as a team. They are focused and committed to this mission. Thank you.

A big thank you to NEW MINAS DENTAL OFFICE for donating 252 tubes of toothpaste, 204 tooth brushes and 144 floss. A lot of people are blessed every day with donations like these. You can’t change the world but you can CHANGE A LIFE. Thank you. ?

We might need an extra suitcase or two I think Linda wants to bring a few kids home. I see her ? eyeing ? the kids up for suitcase size. Especially Dickieson.

I see Heather for meals that’s about it. She is helping with the children steadily. Ti-Fi is liking her a lot. All the children are enjoying her. She is a big help with all the children.

Great blog Heather and Bob! Thank you Heather for your love and help with TiFi and the other children. Bob, looks like you have been busy so hopefully staying out of trouble! Linda, Keith and Joan have had their hands full with the sponsored kids photos and letters so hopefully they stayed out of trouble too! Well, I don’t think Keith could stay out of trouble no matter how busy he was! Thank you all for all the work!

Well done Heather and Bob and rest of Crew. I love the new work bench. Have been repairing the old on for 10 years or more. Nice to see TiFi smiling.

That is quite the team going!
I do hope the photographer was “let out” later as it appears there were still more pictures to be taken.
Another action packed week at HATS!
