Hockey in Haiti ?

November 21, 2016 Posted by Keith Wight 2 Comments

Football or soccer may be the national sport of Haiti, but the kids love to play road hockey as well. Every Saturday or school holiday or afternoon after homework is done, they get the sticks out and teams are formed. Finding a team balance is always a challenge and the key seems to be to vary the makeup regularly. Teaching the rudiments and rules of playing is easy. Teaching sportsmanship is shall we say a work in progress?

Good fun.

I love how they love to play hockey, a sport unknown to them before you, Keith! They are quite serious and give it their all. Great fun!
