End of School, Prayer Request

June 16, 2011 Posted by Karen Huxter 3 Comments

Sorry about it being two weeks since a blog has been posted. We are long overdue and hopefully we can pay up for it by blogging more often. Actually you might get doubly blessed this week as I think Seth is also doing a blog.

School is almost finished for this year and my children are glad. No one, however, can possibly be happier than I am about this. Tomorrow, Thursday, is the last day of exams. O happy day Friday! Tuesday the teachers will be preparing the report cards and on Thursday students and parents come to pick them up. O even happier day next Friday! I do enjoy being involved in the school but it is now time for a break from it. I look forward to catching up on more things in the office. Jessie has been a big help with the office work. Without her help I think I might have a lot less hair, and be a lot less sane, at this point.

Now we are getting ready to start another construction project – building an office for our school. I will post photos of the work.

Jessie has recently been sending information to those in my address book to let you know that you can sign up to have the blogs download to your Inbox. People have been requesting this and we have found out it is possible. Follow instructions below.

If you go to the blog website https://hatshaiti.org/blog, you will find a section on the right hand column to sign up for our blog posts. In the box below, type your e-mail address and the system will send you a confirmation e-mail containing a link. When you click on that link, you are signed up and the system will send you a copy of the blog to your e-mail address whenever a new blog is posted. This can take up to 24 hours, and is not under our control, but it will appear in your inbox. We, again, want to thank you for following along with the blog and for supporting us in so many ways! Hopefully, this will make it a little easier for everyone to stay connected with what goes on here at HATS. (NOTE: Link revised to new blog site in 2016)

Moize feeding little brother Ti Luc

Please pray for me. At this moment I am fighting discouragement. Jessie and Seth just prayed with me and that has helped. You all know about Ti Luc and the adoption process that has been going on for almost 2 1/2 years. I believed that the adoption would be completed in time for me to go to Canada mid July with Ti Luc. I purchased tickets for us to fly PAP – Montreal – Halifax, with a stopover there. We were to spend a couple of days with my friend Bev in Lower Sackville, then a week in Yarmouth. We were then to fly Halifax – Deer Lake for two weeks in Newfoundland and I would be attending the ‘Come Home Year Reunion’ for my home town. In August we were to fly Deer Lake – Halifax – Montreal – PAP, and return home to our family here. I truly believed it would happen. I have four weeks left and I have no doption paperwork in my hands. I need the adoption papers, then need to get a passport for Ti Luc and then need to apply for a visitor’s visa. An hour ago I reached the lawyer in PAP working on this and hung up feeling very discouraged. I know from the way he spoke, from what he said, and what he did not say, that the chance of it happening is slimmer than slim. I have to now accept and prepare Ti Luc and myself that we will not be going. I will not go without Ti Luc this time as he is so very excited about going to Canada soon. I will not tell him he can’t go but I am going.

We serve a mighty God and he can do a miracle. He can make a way where there seems to be no way. At this moment I see no way it can happen but I do ask for your prayer support for me to be able to accept whatever comes and be able to accept it graciously, and to help my precious little Ti Luc accept it also. Thank you for standing with me in this as you have stood with me through everything over my years in Haiti.

I appreciate your support in every way. God bless you all.

~Karen

Prayers are going to the Father on your behalf. Do not let yourself get too discouraged, He has a plan and it will be for your good. We are still hoping for that visit in July BUT will take the visit later if need be!
Thank you for sharing with us on the blog. God Bless you as you wait on Him.

Oh Karen….Whatever happens, it will all be okay. You are such an amazing momma to Ti Luk….and he knows it. You found each other in this life time and your love for each other will get you through anything. It will work out, whatever God has planned, it will work out. I'm thinking about you all the time and sending you my love and many hugs…
